I Hate Exams.

I do not like exams at all.  They require so much of my time that I could be using to do something I really enjoy doing.  I was really looking forward to going hunting on Saturday but my mom said that I have to stay home and study.  This makes me really mad because I hate being stuck inside doing this.  I would much rather be hunting.  The worst part of exams this year is that I have my World Cultures and Biology exams on Teusday.  I have a decent grade in World Cultures but there is a lot of information that we must know in order to pass.  In Biology, there is also a lot of material.  The only thing good about having the two worst exams first is that I get them done.  On Wednesday, I have Geometry.  This shouldn't be too bad because I have an A in the class and I understand everything.  On Thursday, I have my Spanish exam.  This is not going to be fun.  I have a tutor that is helping me a lot but I am still not a good Spanish student.  Lastly, on Friday, I have my English exam.  I am begining to study for that but I am worried about how I will do.  On Friday, December 16th, 2011, at 10:00 a.m, I will finally be able to go home.  I will not have to study untill school starts back.  I can not wait to go hunting and not hear my mom even talk about studying.

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break starts after school on Teusday, November 22.  I am planning on having a great break.  Starting on Wednesday morning, I will go deer hunting at my farm.  Then, I will come back to Columbia on that afternoon.  Wednesday night, I will hang out with my friends.  Next, I will eat Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday and then go back to my farm that afternoon.  When i get there, I will go deer hunting.  The next morning is Friday.  I will get up very early to do duck hunting.  After duck hunting, I will go deer hunting.  The same afternoon, I will go dove hunting.  After dove hunting, I will go deer hunting again.  Then, on Saturday, I will deer hunt in the morning. In the afternoon, my family and friends will cook a hog while watching the South Carolina vs. Clemson game.  I hope to have a very fun break.

Fall Fest

On Tuesday, November first, some students from Hammond school watched a movie after school for extra credit.  I suprisingly enjoied this movie.  I wasn't expecting to enjoy it because it was a foreign movie so we had to read what the characters said.  I normally do not like reading but as the movie went on, I basically forgot that I was reading.  In the movie, a mom, dad, and son are all captured and sent to concentration camps.  The mom was split from the dad and son.  The dad was making his son think that the concentration camps were a game so that his son wouldn't get scared.  This was one of my favorite things of the movie. It made me so thankful to not even be alive during that time period.  I was amazed at how the dad managed to stay so calm and posative with his son.  At the end of the movie, Americans came and they rescued the boy.  They later returned him to his family.  I really enjoied this movie.

My two favorite places

I am a very active person who does not sit still long.  I have two favorite places to be and they are my lake house and my farm.  About 50 years ago, my grandmother (my dad's mom) bought a piece of property at Lake Wateree.  They later built a house on it and it has been there ever since.  This is my favorite place to be in the summer time.  The Sheorn family also has a house at Lake Wateree two doors down from us.  Marshall Sheorn and I have a great time together every summer.  We love to fish, bowfish, and do all the water sports.  We also think of other ways to have fun like jumping off of boat houses into the water, racing lawn mowers, making  massive swings, and making huge slip'n slides.  I enjoy all of these activities equally so I don't have a favorite.  The second place I love to be is at my farm in Reevesville, South Carolina.  Here, I have a friend, Tyler Walters, that enjoys doing many of the same activities as me.  We love hunting doves, ducks, deer, and turkey the most.  We also enjoy riding four wheelers and muddin'.  There are many more fun things we do but they are not appropriate to mention here.  My dad and I plant our dove field, duck pond, and many food plots for wildlife.  This part is hard work that I do not always enjoy very much.  I am very lucky to have these two places and I hope to always have them.

Fractured back?

On Thursday, October 6th, 2011, our Hammond junior varsity football team played at Laurence Manning Academy.  This team was very big, strong, and fast.  Our defense could not seem to stop their runningback because he was so strong and fast.  We were told by our coach that they were going to be like this but we did not know that they were that good.  Our JV football record was five wins and one loss so we didn't expect a running back that was so fast.  Hammond's offense was also playing poorly so the combonation of all this allowed our team to start getting many injuries.  Nick, Cantey, Patrick and I all got hurt.  Nick fractured a couple ribs, Patrick almost broke his hand, and Cantey dislocated his shoulder.  In the fouth quarter, Laurence Manning ran the ball up the "a" gap and I went to make the tackle.  We hit each other very hard and fell to the ground.  I was almost knocked out when a player from Laurence Manning picked me up and asked if I was okay.  At this time, I was just in a daze and mumbled "yes" and walked away. I decided to stay in the game and my chest and upper back began to hurt more and more.  Eventually, my chest pains went away but the back pains didn't.  It continued to hurt, so I went to the doctor and he told me it was probably a pulled muscle and he gave me some muscle relaxer.  This medicine did'nt help and the pains are still here.  The doctor also told me that if it wasn't better by Monday, (today) then it could be something else such as a fracture. The sharp pains are still continuing so I will probably need to get it x-rayed.  This was a very rough game.

Last Weekend

I had a great time at my farm last weekend.  Although I didnt get to go to the Hammond football game, I still had a wonderful weekend.  I went to my farm in Reevesville, South Carolina on Friday night to help my dad prepare for our dove hunt the next day.  My family, consisting of my mom, dad, and my sister were all there. Also, two other friends came. They were Marshall Sheorn and Jake Nidiffer. Once we finished getting ready and everyone arived, we went to the feild and started to shoot.  The hunt started off alright but not what we expected but it got better as time went on.  As the birds began to fly better, we all killed our limits.  After we killed our limits, we went back and cleaned all of the birds we killed.  Then, we rode four wheelers all around our property and went muddin'. Next, the South Carolina vs. Vandy football game came on tv, so we all watched that.  After South Carolina's great victory, we rode four wheelers some more.  As we were riding, we came across a four foot rat snake. Jake and I both do not like snakes so I got my four wheeler tire on the snake and we cut his head off with a hatchet.  The next day, we had just finished planting a food plot with wheat when Jake saw a rattle snake. He got his tire on the snake but this time, we had nothing to kill it with. We became very scared because the snake was rattling, which means that the snakes is about to bite. Then, we got the idea to kill it with a stick.  Fortuneately, this plan worked. After all of this excitement, we packed up and headed for home. I had a great action packed weekend.
